Winter School 2020
Research into the environmental potential of the region.

The two-day Winter School was held as the first of BeCAT's pre-opening events.

Opening lecture by BeCAT Center Director Shohei Shigematsu: "New Architectural Typology Born from Observation"

At the research workshop, which had the theme of "Considering an environmental master plan for cities and buildings in Kyushu and Okinawa," various map data were created on the four topics of "tourism," "energy," "disasters," and "materials" based on vector data such as the National Land Digital Information provided by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

By combining and visualizing a map with scale and various numerical information, various environmental potentials of Kyushu were discovered that would not have been noticeable with the information alone.
