Suginosha Building Raising Ceremony | Event Report

　On July 26th, Suginosha, a project partner of BeCAT, held a ridgepole-raising ceremony at the sake brewery, which is currently undergoing renovation. The ceremony was attended by the client, Suginosha, as well as the carpenters and related contractors involved in the renovation work, and BeCAT, who all prayed for the safety of the construction and the building. The ridgepole-raising ceremony is held to pray for the safety of the building after completion, and is also known as muneage. It is a Shinto ritual that takes place when the framework, including the pillars, ridge, and beams, is completed and the ridgepole is raised.

After the ceremony, a rice cake throwing ceremony was also held in the front garden. The rice cake throwing ceremony is a traditional event that takes place after the ceremony, in which rice cakes and coins are thrown to spread good fortune to the people. Many local residents and Suginosha customers participated, and the event ended in great success.

We will continue to renovate the 100-year-old storehouse in a way that will allow it to continue for the next 100 years.
