Announcement of BeCAT x Sugino-sha "Sake Brewery Garden" Tour

　BeCAT will be hosting a tour of the Sugino-ya Sake Brewery Garden.
BeCAT's project partner, Sugino-ya, is a long-established sake brewery in Moto-oka, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka City, founded in 8 (Meiji 3), and has been passed down through 150 years in the Moto-oka area. Due to the aging of the building, they consulted BeCAT about its future. The project began as an assignment for BeCAT's summer school held in August 2021, and the renovation plan was decided based on the students' proposals. This project renovated the building while reinforcing its structure, transforming it into a sake brewery open to the community. 3D laser scanning technology was used for surveying, and data on the building's distortion was collected and analyzed. As much of the old brewery's tools and materials, including dismantled materials and old timbers from the Meiji-era brewery, were used as possible, and the design aims to allow people to feel the passage of time and the history that has flowed through this building, even in the new structure.
